Quilled Fridge Magnet with Tutorial

With a little bit of imagination, we can create using the quilling technique, a wide variety of decorative items. This time I turned a simple flower into a fridge magnet.

Here is a little tutorial:
To make the flower petals, we need:
* 4 black paper strips, 36″ (90 cm) long;
* 5 paper strips, half black, half purple, 24″ (60 cm) long;
* 3 paper strips, half black, half purple, 12″ (30 cm) long.

Roll the strips to make loose coils, then shape each flower petal into bent teardrops (like in the pictures below).

Make 6 tight coils using 3/4″ (7cm) black paper strips for the flower center.

Glue the petals and the 6 tight coils into the center of the flower. Then, using double sided tape, attach a magnet to the back of the flower.

Have fun!
