Back to the Basics V – Love Quillography

Hello All!

Quick post with the canvas which I told you I was working on last time: “love” quillography. After the blue canvas with “home”, I decided to make a red one. And what better word to use with this beautiful color than love?

The canvas measures 12cm*12cm. I used Freehand521 BT font, but with a few modifications. I contoured the letters with 5mm wide paper strips, 120gsm.

As you probably have noticed, I don’t quill according to seasons or holidays. I enjoy making Mărțișoare and that’s about all. But this time, surprisingly, I’ve aligned myself with the rest of the world since my quilled creation matches Valentine’s Day theme. Yay! 🙂

For my next canvas, I’m thinking color… green. We’ll see!

Thank you for your visit!

Happy Quilling!

Your work is simply perfect Manuela. Loved you tutorial too, but I tend to mess up when I apply glue directly on the backing so I apply to the strip and let it get sticky and then paste it to the backing and hold it down till it dries. Nevertheless, I must give your method another try.

      Thank you very much, Chris!

I tend to mess up when I apply the glue directly to the paper strip! I feel that my quilling is more precise if the glue goes on the background.

Your quillography or paper graphic (I don’t know anymore how to call this type of quilling) looks very good, so your method works great for you, I don’t think you need to change anything!
