Quilled G Clef Cat

I made this quilled G clef cat as a gift for a very good friend who recently graduated from a course. I am really happy for her and decided to give her a little present 🙂

Quilled G Clef Cat

The design was inspired by this tattoo. The moment I saw it I immediately thought of her and I knew I had to make something similar out of paper.

Quilled G Clef Cat - Detail

The total size of the passepartout is 13cm * 18cm and the inside cut measures 9cm * 14cm. The cat is approx. 11cm long. I used 120gsm black paper, hand cut into 5mm strips. I wanted to make everything in black and white, but I wasn’t very happy with it and felt like something was missing, so I added the little collar with the red flower.

She hasn’t seen it yet, so Alex, I really hope you like it! Meow!

Thank you for your visit!

Happy Quilling!

Love the cat! Its a beauty! And the effect completes with the background notes! You are so talented Manu. Everything you create is purr…fect!

I wanted to thank you for 2 things. First your lovely comment on my post about the 18th Birthday card. Thank you so much!

The other think I wanted to thank you was for encouraging me about cutting 1 mm, 2 mm strips with blade. I wouldn’t say I have perfected it, but certainly I am getting there.

    Hugs,

      Thank you, Helen!

I drew the cat silhouette on a black piece of paper and then cut it. I printed the music score on a piece of cardboard and then I glued the cat over it. I have a tutorial made already to get you started with paper graphic or contour quilling, I hope it helps: http://manuk.ro/en/2013/01/quillography-tutorial/

I would love to see your quilled music notes when they’re done! Good luck!
