Quilled Anemones and Geranium – Floral Tile II.
I am back with the second piece from my series of densely packed 12cm*12cm floral tile, this time with quilled anemones (Anemone Hupehensis) and geranium “Wargrave Pink”. Inspiration came directly from the garden, where from weeks on end superb white and pink anemones kept on blooming. For the geranium leaves I plucked the real ones from the plant, drew their contour and then carefully cut each of them.
I am not used to showcasing my artwork on a black background, but I really like how it makes all the pastel shades stand out. I will keep on experimenting with other colors, too and hopefully I will find other alternatives. I framed the tile again in a white 25cm*25cm shadowbox frame:
Working with the actual flowers and leaves was such a different experience than my usual stare-for-hours-at-the-monitor-at-flat-pictures-with-plants. I better begin to quill according to the season! 😀
Thank you for your visit!
